The Honorable Patrick T. Reilly
Mayor, Town of Malabar

When I was 11 years old, my father came into my bedroom and told me that there are three types of people in this world. You are either a leader, a follower or you get out of the way. He told me that I think you can be a leader and tonight I’m taking you to a Boy Scout meeting to learn how to be a good leader. I’ve been a leader ever since.

I have lived in Brevard County, Florida for 51 years. I moved to Malabar, Florida in 2001 after getting married. I was appointed to the Town’s Planning and Zoning Board as voting member after a 6-month wait. I served on the Planning and Zoning Board for 15 years before being elected Mayor in 2016. I served as Vice Chairman for 5 years and as Chairman for 4 years. I was also on the Malabar Citizens Budget Review Committee for 5 years and served as Chairman for 2 years.

As Mayor, I have championed the rezoning of our town’s arterial roads from being strictly Residential to Residential/Limited Commercial. This will help support and open up the growth for the town. I have also led the effort to improve the stormwater infrastructure for the town, and raised the mileage rate to improve the few paved roads in the town.

I have also represented the Town of Malabar at the Brevard County Space Coast League of Cities for the past 7 years. I’m currently on the Charter Review Committee, and a voting member on the Board of Directors.
