The Honorable Elaine Brown
Mayor, City of Neptune Beach
Mayor Brown and her husband, Richard, moved their family to Neptune Beach over 30 years ago…and it’s the city they love.
With over 16 years as a small business owner, beginning with her first business, Promotions Network, which she launched in Neptune Beach, Mayor Brown knows what it takes to meet a payroll, pay taxes and keep things running on budget.
She has made it a priority to give back to her community. Mayor Brown serves on the Jarboe Park Revitalization Committee and is a member of the K9s for Warriors Advisory Board. She currently chairs the A1A Scenic Highway Task Force and is past chair of the Beaches Chamber of Commerce Board. She serves as a gubernatorial appointee to the Regional Planning Council and is an inductee to the Jacksonville Jazz Festival Hall of Fame. Mayor Brown served as a member of the Jacksonville Economic Development Transition Team and has been on the boards of: Downtown Development Authority, Community Connections, I.M. Sulzbacher Center, March of Dimes, Cathedral Arts Project and The Bridge of Northeast Florida.
Mayor Brown’s dedication to service has not been limited to community involvement. She served two terms on the Jacksonville City Council, where she chaired the Finance Committee during her first year on the council and was elected by her fellow Council members as Council President. At that time, one of only four women had achieved that position. While on the Council, she provided a strong voice for the Beaches and the Citizens of Duval County, and she successfully initiated and passed significant legislation that has improved the quality of life for all residents. It was there that she gained both experience and a strong county-wide network that has proven to be invaluable.
Decades of civic, professional and government leadership, coupled with a tireless work ethic and a reputation for getting things done.
Mayor Brown was elected Mayor of Neptune Beach in 2016, for a 4-year term.
