The Honorable Arthur Penny
Mayor, City of South Pasadena

I will represent FLM District 10, Pinellas County, with the utmost of my ability and work towards building the best future for the cities represented by the Florida League of Mayors.

I was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 21, 1958. My mother and father were born in Florida (Chipley & Cottondale). My family has been in Florida since the early 1790s. Florida is my family home. I have served on the South Pasadena City Commission since 2009 with a brief one-year hiatus in 2017 due to term limits during which time I volunteered to act as Trustee for the South Pasadena Firefighters Pension Fund. In 2018 after serving one year of a three-year term, I decided to resign and run for Mayor in 2019. I have completed all four of the Florida League of Cities IEMO educational classes and in 2018, I completed the Florida Metropolitan Planning Organization Advisory Council’s (MPOAC) Weekend Institute for Elected Officials.
