Mayor Kurvin Qualls was first elected to the Town of Jay City Council in 2002. He served four years on the council before being elected as Mayor in 2006. Kurvin has been the President of the Jay Area Merchant Association since 1998. He currently is serving on the Northwest Florida League of Cities Board of Directors as 2nd Vice President. He also serves on the Intergovernmental Relations Legislative Policy Council.
Kurvin is a lifelong resident of the Town of Jay. He has been employed by Escambia River Electric Coop.for the last 22 years. Kurvin and his wife Nicki have owned and operated their own business for the past 12 years.
Kurvin and his wife Nicki have six children, four boys and two girls.
Since he has been elected Mayor, the Town has secured several different grants for paving, sidewalks and erosion problems.
