Recently, we brought you an article about how cities are embracing new technologies to help them run more effeciently. This is progressing further with the help of Code for America.

Code for America consists of "web geeks, city experts, and technology industry leaders." They are introducing apps for cities, to help them operate better for their citizens.

Many cities are beginning to host "hackathons" which brings cities and tech-savvy individuals, who write code and develop software, together to collaborate on ideas that solve challenges a certain city may have.

Some of you are already hosting hackathons in your city this Saturday, June 1. If you would like to have a hackathon, you can sign up on the National Day of Civic Hacking website, hackforchange.org.
